The June meeting of the Lake County Astronomical Society will be Friday, June 21st at the Volo Bog Visitor's Center. Our guest speaker will be Jim Kovac from The Chicago Society for Space Studies. Jim has been a speaker at LCAS meetings in the past and this is sure to be a very educational and fun event. Please note the start time will be 7 PM. Please join us.

Weather permitting LCAS members using their powerful telescopes will show the night sky to guests.

Dr. Jennifer Sieben, editor of Physics Today will give a presentation on her latest articles. This will be Jennifer's second time presenting to LCAS. This is sure to be a very educational and informative talk.

PROGRAM

The Speaker for this month's LCAS meeting is Amanda Bauer. Amanda is the Montgomery Foundation Deputy Director and Head of Science & Education at Yerkes. Amanda received her PhD in Astrophysics from the University of Texas at Austin studying variations in how galaxies form, how they live their lives, and how they evolve into the diverse array of galaxy species we see today. This is sure to be an interesting and educational presentation.


The presentation will start at 7:00 PM There will be an LCAS business meeting starting about 8:30 PM also open to the Public. Afterwards LCAS members will show guests the night sky through powerful telescopes (weather permitting). Please join us.

Larry Boyle, with the Chicago Society for Space Studies Speakers Bureau will give a presentation titled, 'Space: The Year in Review'. Mr Boyle who has presented to LCAS many times in the past has made this talk pretty much a yearly event. This is sure to be a very educational and informative talk.
